Shahrukh Khan, born on 2 November 1965, often credited as Shah Rukh Khan and informally referred as SRK, is an Indian film actor. He has acted in 75 Hindi films in genres ranging from romantic dramas to action thrillers. His work in India’s film industry have garnered him numerous achievements, including fourteen Filmfare Awards from thirty nominations. His eighth Filmfare Best Actor Award win made him the most awarded Bollywood actor of all time in that category, tied only with actor Dilip Kumar. He was awarded with the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2005. Khan occupies the position of co-chairman of the motion picture production and distribution company, Red Chillies Entertainment and the animation studio, Red Chillies VFX. He is also co-owner of the Indian Premier League cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders.
Shah Rukh Khan love married Gauri Chibber, a Hindu, in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25 October 1991.They have three children, son Aryan (b. 1997) and daughter Suhana (b. 2000). In 2013 they became parents of a third child named AbRam via a surrogate mother, Khan’s older sister Shehnaz also lives with them.
SRK’s Early Life:
SRK is a half Pathan (father) and half Hyderabadi (mom).
SRK’s parents met under strange circumstances. His mother had an accident, and needed blood. The donor was his father. They fell in love while he was helping her recuperate.
SRK and his father, Mir Taj Mohammad, shared a great relationship. They called each other ‘yaar’. His parents were never restrictive, and he had a lot of liberties as a child.
Mir Taj Mohammad could never make money at somebody else’s expense. He tried his hand at various businesses, like the chola-bhatura stall, where he distributed all his profit amongst the workers. He had a transport business, but his partners cheated him.
Shah Rukh khan was always a brilliant student throughout his school. In his school, St.Colombia, he was hailed and awarded the sword of honor, an annual award given to the student who best represented the spirit of the school.
SRK used to hate Hindi as a subject the most and once his mother challenged him to Top in Hindi subject and instead he would be taken to a Hindi movie. He did the same and he went to see Dev Anand’s Joshila.
SRK loved sports when he was a child, and still does. He was the captain of football and hockey teams, and played cricket at zonal and national levels.
In his college years even though he was often uncomfortable with the education system and used to get frustrated with the repetitions of coursework. This made him quit St.Stephens after just a year of joining in, and later he joined Hansraj College. Similarly he joined Jamia Milia for a course in mass communication but left it after a year because he got bored.
The loss of both his parents comprised the most painful moments in his life. His father passed away when SRK was 15, and his mother died in his arms when he was 25.
Before becoming to Mumbai and start acting, Shah Rukh Khan ran a restaurant in Dariya Ganj in New Delhi, India for a brief period of time.
Shah Rukh Khan’s first salary was Rs 50 which he earned by working as an usher at a Pankaj Udhas concert in Delhi. He used the money to take the train to Agra and see the Taj Mahal.

SRK was watching Yash Chopra’s ‘Lamhe’ in a theater with Viveck Vaswani when halfway through his secretary arrived to inform him that Mr Chopra was considering casting him in a movie.
